Duelling Paintbrushes 5: Duel of Kings.

Behold! It is time once more for Duelling Paintbrushes! What with the whole Age of Sigmar thing, there have been some modifications to the format. Now it is time for mighty men to take up powerful paintbrushes in the Duel of Kings - Duelling Paintbrushes for Kings of War!
Behold! The rules document!

Duelling Paintbrushes 5: Duel of Kings is a painting challenge. The rules are simple:

  • Start painting October 1st 2015.
  • Finish painting October 31st 2015.
  • You must paint a horde and its attached units for Kings of War.
  • A Horde entitles one to:
    • A single character
    • A single warmachine
    • A single monster (if available to your faction)
    • And 4 Troops
  • Your horde and troops may be Infantry, Cavalry, Large Infantry or Large Cavalry.
  • You do not need to use official models, but your choice of models MUST make sense (no painting Chaos Warriors and claiming they are Goblins for instance)
  • You can assemble and undercoat before hand. Or you can be arrogant and do it all during DP 5 and make everyone else feel slow.
  • Time permitting; you can add terrain features themed to your army.
  • Everyone who meets the challenge is declared the victor.
  • Everyone who fails to meet the challenge is declared a weedy git and scorned by those who win.
  • You must report your progress on your blog.
  • If you do not have a blog, you cannot take part, and shall be declared the weediest of weedy gits, and children instructed to throw things at you in the street.
  • Please add the blogs of all other participants to your Blogroll.
  • Use of Hippos has been authorized.
  • All participants are to signal their participation by emailing me (and preferably announcing their participation on their blog also)

Ishoo Ninty-Sven: SF Dice Tower

Back in the distant mists of time, I promised myself that one day I would build a Sci Fi dice tower. That day has finally come, and here's Grot to show you how!

Happy rolling hippo fans! When you're building something like this, it's always important to test things as you go. I had to make several modifications to improve the smoothness of the rolling on this design.
Don't forget to vote in the latest reader's choice poll and, of course, enter the TFH Annual Terrain Compometition!

Ishoo Ninty-Nin Poll open!

Normally, we have reader's choice polls for every four ishoos, but since the next poll should be for Ishoo Wun-Hunred, and that's a pretty significat ishoo which I have major plans for, I've put up a poll for Ishoo Ninty-Nin instead.
You can vote as usual at the top right of the blog.
And yes, one of the options does involve me revisiting the CNC Workshop MDF terrain which I was so annoyed by the first time. On the plus side, another involves a technique which was introduced by a reader in one of the old Terrain Compometitions.
Speaking of which, entries are still open for the 2015 TFH Annual Terrain Compometition. Which you should obviously enter. Because, you know, the prizes are just soooooo shiny.
Also bragging rights.
Okay, here's your plan of action for the day:
1: Vote on the Ishoo Ninty-Nin poll.
2: Enter the TFH Annual Terrain Compometition 2015.
3: Curse that you have only discovered the blog AFTER those events ended.
4: Invent time travel.
5: Go to 1.

Annual Terrain Compometition deadline now two months away!

Egad! Tis August! And you know what this means? It means that the TFH annual compometition's deadline of September 30th looms ever closer!
You can check out the rule here.
Unless you come from the future, in which case that page will have updated to show the winners.
Unless you come from the far future, in which case it'll probably be showing details of the compometition in whatever year you're reading this from. In which case you should take off your jetpack, park the flying car in the hovering garage, and get down to making terrain instead of wasting all that time watching zero-g football.
