Ishoo Fifty-Six Space Ork Buildings

Welcome back Hippo Fans! This time we're tackling Space Ork buildings for Warhammer 40,000. Some of my earliest projects were Space Ork buildings. But I'm not going to show you how to make those because they looked terrible. Instead, here's Grot to explain how to make about the only buildings made by any being 'ficker' than he is!

Well, there you have it! Terrain so simple even a Space Ork Hippo could make it! It doesn't come any easier than that...
Might be a while before the next ishoo, I think I might have to paint some of the mountains of Skaven I got for painting the Benite Hordes...

Toll Bridge in action!

The mighty Hoodling has posted a battle report showcasing the Toll Bridge from Ishoo Fifty-Too!
Here are a few taster pics, but you'll need to go and read the report on his blog!

Ishoo Fifty-Fiv: Bubbling Ooze

Hello again Hippo Fans! One of the iconic images of my youth is the toxic ooze pond (I played a LOT of Necromunda!). In fact, I was so interested in toxic slime that my website was actually called 'Toxic Slime' for a while! Goop can be very useful, and not just in SF games - it makes great necrotic slime or pox puddles as well! It might take a little while to do because of the drying times involved, but it's really very easy! Let's have a look at what Grot's got for us eh?

Don't forget to paint the bottom - it helps counter the warping effects of the modelling clay! You can easily paint this red for blood, or brown for sewage or whatever you like!
Don't forget to vote on the People's Choice poll currently running at the top of the page before you go!

Ishoo Fifty-For Nissen Huts (One Day Wonders Part 1)

Welcome to One Day Wonders Part One, the first of an intermittent series of ishoos dedicate to terrain which can be built in a day or less! And here to start us of, Nissen Huts (or Quonset Huts, which are very similar). Yes, it's finally time to do something for all those WW2 players out there! Nissen huts are one of those buildings which most people associate with World War Two, and they really are both quick and easy to build - here's Grot to show you how in the popular 15mm scale as used in Flames of War!

Note: This is Novelty Siding; you can actually get corrugated iron plasticard, but I didn't have any...

And there you are! It's really very quick and easy to build a Nissen Hut... even though these are more like Quonset Huts (he said trying to appease the Nissen Hut Enthusiasts Club over the inaccuracies of the model!) In fact, with enough tubes, you could easily build a whole camp or airfield worth over a weekend.
Since this is a One Day Wonders project, you're bound to be wondering, how long did they take? Well, they were on the bench less than five hours - and a good chunk of that was waiting for paint to dry. These would easily fit into a lazy sunday afternoon or a few evenings if you prefer.
Well, stay tuned for next ishoo, when I have absolutely no idea what will be going on because I haven't decided yet! And don't forget the Reader's Choice Poll!
