SP/VSF Month: Ishoo Sventy-Free: Steampunk Bunkers

Once more unto the breach dear friends! And what do we find defending the breach? Bunkers. Time to revisit bunkers, with a steampunk twist! Originally be tackled SF Bunkers back in Ishoo For, and I was always intending to revisit them for a snow-bound partially buried look. Well, the time has come. Mostly because Nick Cook decided to use his $50 TFH voucher for winning Best Sports and the Warhamer World Series 2012 to get a set of snowy bunkers built for his Menoth army.
Take it away Grot!

Here we see my three favourite heavy squashing books in action - Chronicle of the Cinema, Cars 1930-2000 and Classic Cars of the 20th Century. In the absence of these, or a set of encyclopaedias, I guess the 8th ed Warhammer rule book will work.

And there you have it! Fairly quick and easy to build, and a great benefit to the defence of the realm!
Incidentally, when painting the snow, it's always best to give at least two coats - the photo above shows only one coat, and as you can see, the natural orange-brown of the sand shows through.

  2. Great tutorial, think I'll try to make a WWII bunker using this technique.
