SF Month Bonus: Muscle Car Apocalypse

Been trying to find a use for the terrain-ised cars we looked at a few weeks ago? Trying to figure out a way to combine your love of Mad Max and all those spare WW2 tank bits you have? Been wondering why Ishoo Twenty Ate hasn't shown up yet?
Look no further - it's Muscle Car Apocalypse!

Muscle Car Apocalypse is a new game I'm working on, where you lead a gang of post-apocalyptic desperados in highly modified vehicles in a quest for glory, blood, cash and shiny car parts. It's 1/32 scale, meaning you can use any of the hundreds of 1/32 scale cars available, AND adorn them with parts from 1/35 scale tanks and crew them with 1/35 scale military figures, suitably converted. The rules are free, the terrain requirements are slight, and everything you need is readily available.

DOWNLOAD MUSCLE CAR APOCALYPSE

This is Version 0.4 of the rules, which are still being playtested. If you have any feedback, don't hesitate to get on to me via comments or email!

Incidentally, build-up photos and rambling commentary on the MCA cars is available on the What-If Modelers Forum.

Ishoo Twenty-Sven: Customizing Toy Cars

Something which has often struck me about urban SF games is that there are never any wrecked cars in evidence. In the real world there would be thousands of them, yet on the table there are none. Turning a toy car into terrain is not hard, hell, a hippo could do it. The trick is finding the right car. 1/43 scale is about the right size, but go by eye. Our donor car here is a mutant VW Beetle from the $2 shop. Obviously you'll have trouble finding the same toy, but the techniques can be used on any die cast car.

Well there you have it hippo fans!
We'll be posting some other examples of customized necro cars later on, and remember to stand by for ishoo twenty-ate for the Hoth type generator!

SF Month: Pretty Pictures of My First Underhive

As promised, here are the pics of the complete My First Underhive project.
Apart from the buildings and bridge featured, you'll notice five other bridges, the concrete walls featured in a quikie earlier this month and the satelite dish which was seen in progress. There's also a sneak peak of next ishoo if you look carefully!

Ishoo Twenty-Six Bee: My First Underhive Phase Two

Well Hippo fans, here's part two of My First Underhive. This time round we're building Hab Blocks and Bridges, all of which are so easy a hippo can make them!
Take it away, Grot!

PART ONE: HAB BLOCK ONE.

Sorry Grot, I'm in Melbourne in my capacity as computer purchasing consultant to my parents, so that's the crappy old desk I left behind.

PART TWO: HAB BLOCK TWO.

PART THREE: BRIDGES.

And there you have it Hippo fans! A whole table worth of Necromunda terrain built quickly and easily. I'll post some tasty pics of the whole lot (including more bridges) in action when I get home tommorow. I'll also be posting the plans to take all the guesswork out of building your own copy (I didn't use plans for mine, but that's no reason for you to be penalised!) And keep an eye peeled for Ishoo Twenty-Sven: Customizing Toy Cars which will be up soon as well!
